Let me just start the review with a bit of description on the game. You go around trying to win races to get money things and buy your car new things to put on it such as different colors and motors and that sort. As easy as this sounds, the game is quite challenging because the control of the car totally stinks and you can’t seem to control the car. You can get bored of this game easily. Sorry if you love this game but I just couldn’t get into it. I played this for 5 minutes and decided I shouldn’t waste my time and I should sell this game for more than it costed (hey, it works). I’ll finish this review with a little rating thingy.

Gameplay:4/10: Hey, this game is dang boring and you would only like it if you’re really into racing games. Unfortunately, the only racing game I really actually like is CTR: Crash Team Racing so this game was instantly NOT a keeper.

Graphics:8/10: The awful gameplay gets made up for because of the good graphics. I bought some metallic car and for once it actually looked metallic. Good job, SVG Distribution for making a racing game that looked like you were actually racing.

Sound:4/10: Just old racing music. Nothing to get worked up about . Good thing there’s not a soundtrack. Man, would that be the worst thing in markets.

Control:2/10: You literally just can not control your car. When you turn, you, well, let’s just say it isn’t good, but I’ve seen worse.

Overall:18/40: I guess that is a 2.2/5 and if I round that, Gadget Racers gets a 2. Well, I hope this review helped you to find out if you want this game or want to throw it in the trash. So, see you in my next review on another game!

Our 5 yr old twins bought this game on clearance at Toys R Us last winter when we first got the PS2. The fact that it was on clearance should have been a clue about its popularity/quality, but being new to the gaming environment, we let them buy it. The kids love changing the cars and choosing to go in the water or on other different tracks. However, controlling the vehicles is almost impossible, esp. for novice gamers. You don’t control the games using the joystick, you have to use the arrows instead. It’s very confusing for little kids. My kids rarely play this game. Good thing it was so cheap!

Im not usually into racing games. Same thing everytime, go around and around and around the track. But this game is really fun. Graphics are of course beautiful and the game play is super cool. You earn money for your position in a race, with that money you can upgrade your car. Buy larger engine, transmission, power steering, suspension, disc brakes, different tire types, CPUs, racing spoilers, wings, skis, propellers, floating devices, you name it it can be bought. Race offroad, in water, snow street, and even fly a little. Paint your car, rims, change rims, change horns. There is soo much you can do.
If your a race fan you have to buy this. If your not then you have to buy this.
