According to a number of reviews, the HTC HD2 is seen among the ranks of the top high-end smartphones in the market. Boundaries are pushed, with the array of useful and interesting features this smartphone can offer. One look and already, the size of the touchscreen display and highly efficient processor will make you believe that it is as powerful as how people say it is. This recent pocket PC from HTC aims to help the company slowly become the go-to name for top of the line smartphones.

Compared to previous models, including its predecessor the Touch HD, the HD2 boasts of a large screen, measuring a whopping 4.3 inches. This display is quite overwhelming for a structure that showcases more a sleek and minimalist style. With regards form, it’s similar to the company’s other products with the rounded edges. The integrated camera is also located at the back of the phone.

The front has five keys, dedicated to Call, End Call (that can also serve as a standby/power switch), Menu, Home and Back. These are also designed into one straight line, with the Start and Back buttons merged into one. While these keys seem to be off given the minimalist tone to the design, these are still fully functional, tactile and responsive. These are also constructed from high-quality black aluminum.

Utilizing the similar material as the buttons, brushed versions are utilized for the battery cover which suits the overall matte finish. The top of the handset has the speaker, dual LED flash, and integrated camera without a lens cover, which proves to be a minor setback. This lack however is perfectly understandable, given the company’s attempt at keeping thickness to a minimum.

Measuring 120.5x67x11mm, the phone feels quite bulky upon holding it. It is also a bit awkward to use the phone with just one hand, especially in reaching the opposite corners and sides of the screen. One of the phone’s pleasant surprises is its weight, which is at a low 157 grams, only slightly heavier from its predecessor.
